Splendid Etoile Hotel lives up to its name!

We have just returned back from 4 days in Paris, with myself and two children. This hotel totally lives up to its name. Well located by the Arc de Triomphe with a number of rooms that have an excellent view of the Arc.
We travelled by metro to the hotel from the Gard du Nord (did Eurostar from London) and the hotel is located immediately in front of an elevator so easy access with luggage on wheels and easy access to the rest of Paris.
We stayed in a triple room which was perfect. Our room was large with a seperate area to store our suitcases and plenty of space for clothing. The bathroom was ‘awesome’ (in the words of my 12 year old daugher!). With very powerful shower and very clean. It faced the front of the hotel on the 6th floor and I was amazed how quiet it was, even though it is on a relatively busy road. My friend also had a triple room at the back of the hotel. This room was even bigger and the bathroom configuration was a little different and equally as good. Cleanliness is a common theme throughout this hotel and the maid service is very impressive and should be commended.
You will notice other comments about Farooq, the head of the concierge. This gentleman certainly contributed to the success of our stay. Giving us pertinent information that helped us save money and guided us to the best places to eat and see. The other staff were also incredibly helpful. No question or request appeared too much and we were always greeted with a smile.
I have to admit we were nervous about using this hotel given we booked it totally based on tripadvisor.com’s recommendation. But we needn’t have been worried, we will return for sure.
