All One Could Ask For

Having never been to Paris, and having heard many more horror stories
than positive experiences, I was terrified about selecting a hotel. The Splendid Etoile exceeded every expectation I had. Staff was friendly, courteous, knowledgable, and very helpful. They were excellent English speakers, and put up with our poor attempts at speaking French. The Air France airport bus stops, literally, across the street. Stations for both Metro and RER are right outside the front door. Beyond all that, the view out our window was of the Arc de Tiomphe. Lots of great restaurants and small markets are within just a couple of blocks. All of this combined to make the stay a spectacular one. I was traveling with a spouse, a sister-in-law, and a 16-year-old daughter, and had absolutely no concerns about safety or security inside or outside the hotel. Most interesting, although not most relevant, was that the shower was far better than just about
any I have experienced in hotels in the US or other European destinations. Plenty of room, good water flow. Beds were comfortable, windows opened, room was as large as it needed to be. I simply couldn’t ask for more.
