I stayed at the Splendid for one night, looking for something central and comfortable. I have sampled a lot of hotels in Paris but this one hits the spot.
As others have said before me, it is just off the Arc de Triomphe but also on the other side of the street of where the Air France bus drops you off coming from the aiport. It’s a 5mn walk to the Champs Elysees, but it also has some very nice restaurants and bars just down the street and in the entire area of Avenue des Ternes.
The rooms are big, the beds comfortable, the view breathtaking, the bathrooms clean and big. I got a great deal at 190Euros a night including breakfast and have to say that I will most certainly be back. It’s all about location here. It’s just a shame that when I was here there seemed to be some renovation work going on on the 2nd floor, so ask before they give you your room number, because this was quite annoying in the morning.
Other than that (and hoping it is only temporary) this is a great choice of hotel!
