Location, Location, Location

Wife and I spent 8 days last week of May 2006 at the Splendid. Chose the hotel after reading numerous reviews on this site and others. Our first visit to Paris, usually go every other year to mainland Italy or its two large islands.

All was perfect, received upgraded room immediately, large bright room with two big windows and balconies. Hotel directly across the street from the Air France Airport bus stop, 12 euros per person each way, hugh savings...the staff was soo nice and helpful, Mr. Farooq and front desk always time for giving directions and advise..we loved our room, kept spotless.

Location was everything, Arc of Triumph was RIGHT there, many of the major sights with in walking distance or we took the Metro..Line #1 right across the street...many small little outdoor cafes and places to eat all within walking distance on Avenue Carnot or surrounding streets..McDonalds, like two blocks from hotel, refused to use.

We loved Paris and we loved the hotel and its staff, the trip was perfect, we will return to both again...Most strongly recommend this hotel. Mr. Farooq, possible softer bed for next visit.
