Wonderful Hotel!

We too were a little concerned when we saw the TA rating drop from #3 to #18, but NOT to worry, this place is a gem! We had a “standard triple room”, with 3 single beds (traveling w our daughter). The room was on the 2nd floor so I was concerned about noise—but even on lower floors this hotel is wonderfully quiet, not only do the double french doors block out virtually all traffice noise, but a/c and plumbing were very quiet. We were amazed at how quiet it was. The room had a view of the Arc from the balcony, was quite spacious (for a hotel in the heart of the city), high ceilings which gave it an open feel, lovely French furnishings, and a bathroom that was quite large, including two sinks (a real plus with a teenager). It also had a very nice feature - you could close off the entry area to have privacy when getting dressed or using bathroom. As reported, metro is right at your doorstep and Farooq is great at directing you to the sights. He not only told us about which metro to take, but also the exact number of stops between the hotel and the destination! The room was ready early (about 11am), so we were able to clean up after the long flight, before leaving to sightsee. We found all the staff at the front desk to be very helpful, pleasant and professional. Farooq was on vacation for a couple of days, and his replacemt was reallly very nice. We would stay here again and recommend it to others without reservation, esp the triple room.
